Andrew Carver will take over on 1st July 2005 as CEO of Multicom Security AB. He succeeds Måns Forsberg, who has been Multicom Security’s Managing Director since its formation in 1997.

Multicom Security AB was acquired on 2nd March this year by the GMT Communications Partners Limited investment company. In addition to the well-established Multicom Online Monitored Alarm and Mobitex Mobile Data services, the company is now launching a succession of new products to further enhance it’s security and mobile data services in Scandinavia. 

Looking back, Multicom Security’s Måns Forsberg, who retires on 30th June, comments: “Since its foundation in 1997, Multicom Security has developed Sweden’s best range of monitored alarm transmission and mobile data communication services for companies requiring the most secure and reliable alarm and mobile data solutions. It has been a very interesting and exciting journey, both for me personally and for the company. Today we hold a very strong market position in both our market segments and now that we are entering a new phase in the company’s development, this is a natural point to hand over to Andrew. I wish him and my colleagues every future success.”

Wide international experience

Andrew Carver has previously held senior management positions with telecoms, broadcasting, PC and Internet firms in the IT sector, most recently as CEO of a mobile data network operator in the UK. He has extensive international experience having worked in France, The Netherlands, Italy, Germany, the USA and his native UK.

“I was an advisor to GMT during the acquisition of Multicom Security,” he says, “which gave me the benefit of getting to know the company and people. This is a strong business with talented associates and with a number of interesting opportunities for the future. I look forward to working with my new colleagues at Multicom, our distribution partners and our customers to further strengthen Multicom’s position in the security and mobile data markets.”
