Multicom Security AB has received an order for a monitored alarm transfer system from the Electronic Development Company in the Emirate of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). With the order, Multicom Security AB has delivered equipment to two of the seven Emirates in the UAE.

The 1,000 or so end-customers are primarily banks, gold stores and exchange offices.  For these categories of customers, the local laws prescribe that there should be monitored alarm transfer of the Multicom type.  The owner of the alarm system is the National Police Force that has very high requirements for security and that the system should always work and not generate unnecessary alarms.

Multicom Security AB carried its first installation in the United Arab Emirates in 1996 and operating experience during the past eight years is very good, something that has enabled the transaction in question.

In part, interruptions in an alarm transfer can depend on a line fault and technical faults, and in part on somebody consciously manipulating the alarm connection.  Multicom’s alarm transfer is always monitored – from the alarm installation right up to the alarm center and independent of telephone network.  At regular intervals, short control messages in the alarm transfer are transmitted that sense that everything is working as it should. If the connection is broken or if someone has manipulated it, the alarm goes off.
