Automated Teller Machines (ATM) will become more secure and more cost effective to administer with new IP-based alarm monitoring technology. Multicom Security will, together with the alarm installation company, Zenita, deliver a service that combines the ATM data traffic with alarm signals over a common connection. Strong encryption, firewalls and integrated wireless back-up increase the security even further.
With this new IP technology, the administration of alarm transmission is simplified. The solution becomes more cost effective as both the alarm and ATM data traffic can share the same secure connection. In addition, ATM alarms can be sent to any chosen Alarm Receiving Centre.
“As the project manager, I have high demands for identifying new smart solutions that make our work more efficient. We have tested the IP and Wireless services from Multicom Security for a while, and they fulfilled our requirements regarding redundancy and availability,” says Lars Lundgren, project manager at Zenita.
The alarms to the ATM are connected to Multicom Security’s ‘Multicom IP’ service using a TOR2 alarm transmitter.
“We see several advantages with this technology. Earlier solutions required separate connections for alarms and ATM traffic. By utilising a shared connection, installations become easier and more cost effective. The wireless back-up gives the extra security that this type of application requires,” says Lars Lundgren, Project Manager, Zenita.
“Our cooperation with Zenita is very exciting says Anders Falk, Sales Director, Multicom Security. As we are providing a complete solution for communication, our customers can now receive security, monitoring and full flexibility all in the same solution. It is clear that demand for these types of solutions will grow significantly in Sweden.
Zenita is a partner to Wincor Nixdorf for the installation of ATM’s and associated security installations in Sweden. The cooperation is based on providing a complete solution that includes preparation of the installation site and machine, the installation and handover of a fully functional ATM.
